SA: Hospital cleaners a key plank to Labor's health platform

ADELAIDE, Jan 20 AAP - Humble hospital cleaners were the first step to fix South Australia'spublic hospital system, opposition leader Mike Rann said today.
Mr Rann said if elected to government at the February 9 state poll, Labor would spend$1.5 million a year to hire more hospital cleaners.
He said the money would be used for hospitals to employ up to 50 extra cleaners a year.
According to federal government statistics, 66 of every 1,000 patients in SA pick upa hospital-acquired bacterial infection compared with a national average of 43 for every1,000 …
