NSW: Missing sailors found safe off coast of Sydney

SYDNEY, Dec 4 AAP - Two Canadian sailors missing since last night in choppy seas off
Sydney have been found alive and well.

Water police located them near Little Marley Beach just south of Botany Bay at 12.10pm.

The men, in Australia preparing for the world tornado championships in Sydney next
January, were found on board their 20-foot tornado class yacht.

"They're okay and now a police launch has the yacht in tow. They're being taken to
Port Hacking where they'll both be medically examined by ambulance officers on standby,"

a spokesman said.

It's believed the men had no food, but still had drinking water.

The pair set out from Middle Harbour Yacht Club yesterday afternoon and were last seen
at 4pm in freshening north-easterly conditions off North Head at the entrance to Sydney
Harbour.

The Canadian team raised the alarm when they failed to return by 9pm.
