Qld: Schoolgirl bitten by brown snake
BRISBANE, April 12 AAP - A nine-year-old girl was airlifted to Nambour General Hospitaltoday after a suspected bite from a brown snake.
Energex Community Rescue helicopter pilot Creagh Mecham (Creagh Mecham) said the girlhad been bitten on the foot outside the Sunshine Coast hinterland's Conondale School libraryabout 11am (AEST).
"She was a bit distressed and complaining about pain in her leg - but she settled downonce she met her mother at the hospital," he said.
The girl was reported to be in a stable condition, Mr Mecham said.
