Fed: Howard wishes Fahey luck with lung surgery

CANBERRA, Feb 5 AAP - Prime Minister John Howard said today he expected Finance Minister
John Fahey to remain in politics despite going into hospital this week with a suspected
lung tumour.

Mr Fahey, who has been under pressure over outsourcing, is also engaged in a bitter
preselection row with fellow Liberal, Alby Schultz, over the seat of Hume.

The former NSW premier's electorate of Macarthur has become notionally Labor since
a redistribution, and Mr Fahey has sought to move into Hume.
