SA: French film to be shown in SA after initial refusal
A controversial French film is to be screened in South Australia after initially beingrefused classification.
The film Irreversible -- which includes a nine-minute rape scene -- had been refusedclassification for the French Film Festival starting in Adelaide today.
Attorney-General MICHAEL ATKINSON says he refused classification because festival organisershad incorrectly filled out the required paperwork.
Mr ATKINSON says the initial paperwork stated the film did not contain sexual or violent scenes.
Festival organisers yesterday resubmitted the required paperwork, which met with governmentapproval.
